Restorative Justice Community Conversations

In response to the racial slur/graffiti incident on the Little John Causeway on November 8, 2020, a group of Yarmouth residents have met with staff of the Racial Justice Institute of Maine to discuss implementing a restorative justice process for those who experienced harm. Members of the Yarmouth High School Black Student Alliance, those who committed the acts of racial graffiti and the larger Yarmouth community would all be represented in such a process.

We invite you to join us in a community forum zoom facilitated by the Racial Justice Institute of Maine, this coming Monday, December 14th starting at 5pm for approximately 90 minutes. This is an informational meeting to learn more about the incident and more about how RJIM might lead us through a series of community conversations that will inform, heal and help us move forward as a community.
